The Ryan Nicolaisen Memorial Scholarship

Funded by Ethical Factor Rx & Administered by Free Bleeders

Honoring a Life of Resilience

Ryan Nicolaisen lived with hemophilia A his entire life. Through tainted blood product exposure, he also endured HIV, hepatitis C, and ultimately liver cancer. Yet despite every obstacle, Ryan lived with extraordinary resilience, love, and purpose. He refused to let illness define him — instead choosing to define his own life through courage and compassion.

"My life has changed dramatically, not because of illness, but in spite of it."

— Ryan Nicolaisen

"This scholarship was established in Ryan's memory to carry forward his spirit — supporting individuals with bleeding disorders who are pursuing education, vocational training, and a better future."
